The Phillies went hitter in the 12th round taking Virginia Tech 1B T.J. Rumfield and list him at 3B.
Rumfield is a lanky projectable corner bat who hit .315/.402/.478 this year for the Hokies. He is listed at 6’5″ 225lbs. He played 1B/DH, but there seems to be the athleticism to handle 3B. Definitely has the feel of an exit velocity, try and get the power to play type of pick.
Another player on the #Hokies to watch is โ21 draft eligible 1B TJ Rumfield who displayed a ton of raw power in BP, several scouts impressed with his swing from the left side #MLBDraft
