A Critical Look at the Phillies Organization and Minor League Baseball

July 2 has come and opened up the new international signing period. The Phillies went ahead and signed six 16 year olds for decent chunks of money. They even added a center fielder whose contract had been voided in MLB’s crackdown on Boston doing what everyone else was already doing. There has been a lot … Read more
Last year the Phillies sent J.P. Crawford and Aaron Nola to the Futures Game (Nola would not go because of his pitching schedule) and the year before the Phillies sent Crawford and Maikel Franco. This year the attendees are much less illustrious as the Phillies will be represented by Reading teammates Dylan Cozens and Ricardo … Read more
Last part of the series on midseason updates after looking at players off the list on Tuesday and hitters on Wednesday. Round 31 – Tyler Frohwirth, RHP, Minnesota State University Mankato Frohwirth has bloodlines, a funky delivery, and almost no innings in college. Round 32 – Daniel … Read more
The middle rounds of Day 3 saw the Phillies take a couple interesting projects to go with a bunch of college arms to fill out the short season bullpen.
