2011 1st round pick Larry Greene Jr has retired from baseball

Per Jay Floyd of Phoulballz and Phillies Nation, former first round pick in the 2011 draft, Larry Greene Jr has retired from baseball.  Greene was the #39 pick in the draft (the first selection for the Phillies) out of Berrien County HS in Nashville, Georgia.  Greene was billed as having some of the best raw power in the draft class.  He signed late in 2011 before being injured before Fall Instructional League.  He would show up to 2012 and 2013 Spring Training out of shape.  Greene hit .224/.318/.321 with 8 HRs over 242 professional games.  In 2014 he hit .184/.268/.279 between the GCL and SAL.
