Phillies started Day 3 off by continuing down the RHP path with Chipola JC RHP Andrew Baker.
Baker has good size at 6’3″. It is reportedly a fastball in the 92-94 range, touching up to 94-96. He has two breaking balls with promise, with the slider reportedly the better of the two. He has a changeup, but it isn’t a good pitch yet. Control is an issue, and he has mostly been used as a reliever. There are a lot of strikeouts though. While listed as a JuCo 1 he is actually college junior age having bounced from Chipola to Auburn to back to Chipola. He is committed to South Carolina.

(SO) Andrew Baker @Chipola_BSB
Baker did not disappoint today. Showed advanced feel for a 3 pitch mix including a good riding fastball w/ swing/miss CB/Slurve.
Very polished and athletic on mound.
