To end Day 2 of the draft the Phillies take Brady Day from Kansas State. He was listed as a shortstop, but played exclusively at second this year, but has been all over the diamond in his time.
Day was selected in the 12th round by the Braves last year, but didn’t sign. He hit .318/.426/.513 this year with a career high in home runs with 9. He is a 4th year junior so it is likely that he will be some amount underslot, but maybe not all the way to $5,000 or $10,000. He probably won’t be a prospect of note, but he is interesting and should at minimum be a good org player.
