The Phillies have been active in the NDFA market the last few seasons, with some success. With the draft shortened to 20 rounds and the NDFA bonuses increased from the $20,000 they were in 2020 and 2021 there is still plenty of talent available. This post will be updated as new signings are reported.
Keaton Anthony, OF/1B, Iowa.
Keaton Anthony hit .361/.455/.678 as a red shirt freshman and followed that up by hitting .389/.505/.701 as a redshirt sophomore this year. He dramatically cut down on his swing and miss in 2023, but he is a big slugger who hit the ball hard to all fields. He is going to end up down the defensive spectrum so he is going to mash at each level. Anthony did miss the end of the season due to a gambling investigation at Iowa.
Chase Hopewell, RHP, University of Cincinnati
Hopewell has had success in a bullpen role in the Cape Cod League this summer and was dominant last summer in the Great Lakes League. In between he put up a 5.79 ERA as a starter for Cincinnati with mediocre strikeout rates.
Hunter Loyd, RHP, Campbell University
Loyd spent his first 3 seasons at East Tennessee State before pitching this year at Campbell. He has started each year, though with declining success.
Braydon Tucker, RHP, Lipscomb
Trent Farquhar, 2B, Michigan State
Louie Albrecht, C, Central Arizona College
