The BlueClaws have announced that they will going with a 6 man rotation to start the season. Right now their rotation will be RHP Ricardo Pinto, LHP Josh Taylor, RHP Tyler Viza, RHP Ranfi Casimiro, RHP Chris Oliver, and LHP Elniery Garcia. Viza and Casimiro return to Lakewood after up and down years (both probably should have been in Williamsport if not for organizational needs in 2014). Garcia and Pinto will get their first attempts at full season ball after playing in Williamsport and the GCL. Taylor was an amatuer free agent who played for the GCL Phillies after being signed as a college junior out of the Northwoods League. Oliver was the Phillies 4th round pick and struggled in 2014 as the Phillies worked through delivery and control issues. It is not the most dominant rotation in the Phillies system, but Oliver could breakout if he puts it together, and Ricardo Pinto already has a lot of helium this spring.
A larger Lakewood preview will be out later this week.
So, where does this leave Gueller?
In Extended Spring Training, either prepping for a 3rd trip at Williamsport or grabbing a bat. Either way his stuff is worse than anyone on this staff and a few relievers who should be starters
Elniery Garcia is one of the more intriguing arms in the system given some of the aggressive rankings he saw this winter.
