Contrary to the name the BA draft Report Cards contain no grades, no comparisons, and to someone familiar with the Phillies system it is not going to add a lot to your knowledge. But the report cards are always fun little snapshots looking back at this past June. On top of the 2014 Report Cards, Baseball America went back and looked at the 2009 draft 5 years ago. The Phillies received a C, and BA noted they identified 6 major league players despite not picking until #75 overall. Of those 6 (Jon Singleton, aaron Altherr, Josh Zeid, Andrew Susac, Darin Ruf, and A.J. Griffin) they were only able to sing 4. It looks like 2nd round pick Kelly Dugan will join that group of major leaguers in the next year.
