Nick Williams out with a concussion, Dylan Cozens to Reading

First the bad news, Nick Williams suffered a concussion during a collision at first base where the first baseman received the ball while standing on top of the base.  I assume the Phillies will be slow with Nick’s recovery, and he may be ready by the Fightin’s postseason run, but that is small significance compared to his long term health.

To make up for the fact that their only two healthy outfielders were Destin Hood and Brian Pointer, the Fightins get right fielder Dylan Cozens from Clearwater so they no longer have to play KC Serna in the outfield.  I have been skeptical of Cozens in the past, but I am really looking forward to just watching him over an extended period and will be trying to go in with a blank slate.  Clearwater on the other hand loses a bit of firepower in their playoff run, but still has Carlos Tocci, Andrew Pullin, and Aaron Brown in its outfield, and can use the DH on Chace Numata or Willians Astudillo.

UPDATE: Joe Jordan has said that they expect Nick Williams back in about a week and he will be ready for the playoffs.
