Keith Law Ranks J.P. Crawford #15 Prospect in Baseball

Keith Law has released his midseason Top 50 prospect list.  Shortstop J.P. Crawford comes in at #15 on the list, after coming in at #46 in the preseason list.  Keith ranked the Phillies system #14 coming into the season and was a big fan of their 2013 draft.  Crawford is the #5 shortstop on the list behind Carlos Correa, Francisco Lindor, Addison Russell, and Javier Baez.  He is the #4 player form the 2013 draft behind Kris Bryant, Jonathan Gray, and Hunter Harvey.

Here is what he said about Crawford this time around (and I agree with his sentiments on Crawford)

Crawford’s yet another athletic, quick shortstop who’s shown great instincts and performed well even when playing among much older competition — just add him to the pile, I guess. Crawford’s one of the best defenders in the group, but not as strong as Russell or as fleet of foot as Lindor. He’s shown an excellent approach at the plate, especially pitch recognition, even against lefties, and his glove isn’t that far away from being major-league ready.
