Buried on the Clearwater transaction list was the fact that second baseman Jesmuel Valentin has been reinstated from the restricted list and activated for the Williamsport Crosscutters. Valentin was arrested this April on misdemeanor domestic violence charges, there is no news on any legal outcome. He has been at the complex in Clearwater for the most part since this spring, but has not played in any games and will likely need some time to get back to game shape and speed. Valentin was a Top 30 prospect last offseason after coming over with Victor Arano for Roberto Hernandez. He doesn’t have any standout tools, but has a diverse enough tool set to have a chance to be an everyday second baseman if he hits his ceiling.
