Franklyn Kilome Pitching In MiLB Camp

Video by Josh Norris – Baseball America

Kilome probably has the highest ceiling of any pitcher in the org and could be in for a real breakout if he can hit some of those high velocity numbers with frequency.

  1. I really like the fact that Kilome was generating that velocity with such a low-effort delivery. Seems very promising.

Odd thing to notice, and it was a tough pitch to throw on, but Posso’s throw to second seemed to lack much drive. Do we know anything about him defensively?

    • The reports have been fairly positive on Posso’s defense. He has plus or better arm strength (obviously not on that throw). Last year was his first year with a primary position of catcher, and even then he spent some time at first. In the video it looks like a bad catch on a low pitch and just didn’t a get a lot on the throw. The popped some low 1.8 times last year (60+), this one was 2.15 (30). Might just have been a bad throw. There is more in his Top 50 writeup (#40), http://philliesminorthoughts.com/2015-top-50-phillies-prospects-31-40/

    • 89-92 at peak, after talking with Baseball Betsy, that game was all location, the Phillies didn’t even have a gun at the game. Kilome was surprised at how hard he threw
