Draft To The Show posts Top 15 in ’15 Phillies Prospects

Chris Crawford who writes about the draft for ESPN and writes both about the draft and the minor leagues at his own site Draft to the Show has released a list of his top 15 Phillies prospects.  The full list can be found here and you should go read Chris’ comments.

  1. J.P. Crawford
  2. Aaron Nola
  3. Maikel Franco
  4. Jesse Biddle
  5. Deivi Grullon
  6. Roman Quinn
  7. Matt Imhof
  8. Cord Sandberg
  9. Yoel Mecias
  10. Andrew Knapp
  11. Jesmuel Valentin
  12. Aaron Brown
  13. Carlos Tocci
  14. Victor Arano
  15. Kelly Dugan

There isn’t a whole lot of surprises here, though I disagree with some of the assessments (if we all agreed this would be very boring), more than anything once you get past #3 in the system the next 20 or so guys really don’t have huge differences.

  1. Romus

I really think Grullon will be the next big jump in the organization, possibly second to JPC. Could be similar to how the Ranger’s Jorge Alfaro jumped right thru their system two years ago.
And the other one who will climb into the top seven, I believe will be Rhys Hoskins. His bat is extremely explosive and strong, 60 power tool, he will be talked about as the phuture Phillies first baseman.

  2. PHack?

Victor Arano and Jesmuel Valentin all ready on the top 15 list by this assessment. Only recently acquired in the Roberto Hernandez trade from LAD, a pitcher roundly panned on the internet as of little value. It just goes to show there’s always room at the top. On the Phillies minor league prospects lists , anyway.
