DL Shuffling in Clearwater: Dugan, Imhof, and Leibrandt

Time to return from our draft high to talk about existing prospects and their ailments.

Kelly Dugan
Dugan has been sidelined since spring due to a stress fracture in his foot.  He has been playing in Extended Spring Training for a couple of weeks now.  Today the Phillies activated Dugan from the Reading DL and assigned him to Clearwater in what amounts to a rehab assignment.  Dugan likely won’t be in Clearwater very long, it still is unclear if he will get more time in Reading or go to Lehigh Valley.

Matt Imhof
Imhof was the Phillies 2nd round pick in 2014, but after showing reduced velocity this April (85-87) he went on the DL with bicep tendonitis.  He has pitched some games in Extended Spring where he has been low effort 88-89 T90 (by Jim Peyton, Phuture Phillies).  He has now been activated from the DL and should take the rotation spot of Brandon Leibrandt.

Brandon Leibrandt
Yesterday the Threshers put 2014 6th round pick Brandon Liebrandt on the DL with an unknown ailment.  He last pitched on June 3 and has struggled in his last few outings.

  1. I can’t believe that there have been no comments from Clearwater about why they are using Mecias out of the pen. But, it will be good to see Dugan back on the field again.

  2. It is sad that Dugan seems permanently injured, and did H Mart get demoted while I was in half a$$ draft mode ughh, I thought he was doing somewhat well in AA, maybe I can faux finish his aluminum bat to look like wood one, big wink, and yeah what about Watson , it would be super cool if he could live up to some of his talent, we all know he has it , just about staying healthy and staying away from the chemicals that MLB tests for. Good luck to all the injured
